CLAIMS PROCEDURES
If the insured person is diagnosed with any of the Critical Illnesses specified in the Policy Special Conditions, the insured or their relatives must follow the steps below:
- In the event that a critical illness covered under the policy occurs, medical reports issued by a fully equipped hospital or healthcare institution must be submitted to the Insurer within sixty (60) days from the diagnosis date of the covered illness, the date of surgery for coronary artery disease requiring open-chest bypass surgery, or the date of organ transplantation.
- The insured is required to provide the Insurer with all medical reports and other documents obtained from the doctor, hospital, or healthcare institution regarding the diagnosis of the critical illness.
- For the assessment of the claim, the Insurer may request additional information or documents from the insured if deemed necessary. The Insurer has the right to conduct further medical investigations, request any relevant information, reports, and documents from the diagnosing physician, healthcare institution, or other parties, require the insured to be examined by a referral doctor, and/or seek an opinion from the Medical Advisory Firm contracted by the Insurer.
- If multiple covered illnesses are diagnosed at the same time, or if the same illness is diagnosed in different organs, the payment will be limited to the sum insured, and no duplicate payment will be made.
During claim payment, any unpaid premiums of the Personalized Critical Illness Insurance will be deducted from the payable benefit.
For the insurance benefit to be paid to the beneficiaries, the Insurer must be notified immediately of the insured’s death and the following documents must be provided as proof:
- All medical documents and records related to the insured’s examinations and treatments
- Death certificate or burial permit
- Certified and stamped population registry extract issued by the Civil Registry Office
- Certificate of inheritance (veraset ilanı) and, if applicable, any other documents proving beneficiary rights
For claims related to incurable mental illnesses, the insured or policyholder must declare and provide documentation proving that no diagnosis, suspicion, or indication related to the condition existed for at least two (2) years prior to the policy start date.
